Ian Ward
Ian is a well-connected intuitive entrepreneur with over forty years experience as an independent businessman in the fields of international trade and business development. Prior to moving to Canada, he was a member of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries, a UK professional management body, and held accounting and management positions with a major international financial group that was acquired by Hill Samuel, a London based merchant bank. After moving to Canada in 1966, he was employed as the Western Canada Business Manager for Canadian Trailmobile, a manufacturer and distributor of highway transportation equipment. In 1969 he founded and assumed the role of CEO of Ward, Bedas (Canada) Limited, a venture that pioneered the Canadian timber trade into the Arabian Peninsula and subsequently evolved into a highly successful international trading house with offices on four continents. In 1976 he was the co-founder of Cormorant Bulk Carriers Inc., an equally successful international shipping company. As paradigm changes became apparent in the manner in which international trade was conducted, he shifted his focus in 1984 to international industrial and infrastructure development and in 1993 embarked on his first enterprise in the health and wellness sector. Interspersed with those primary activities were various forays into the mining and energy sectors with a long-established network of well-connected business associates with appropriate expertise. In 2001, he expanded his business interests to embrace the unconventional energy, alternative energy and environmental sectors.
